A Girl Making A Difference

I told you recently about my youngest daughter, who turned 17 just days ago.  Well, that girl of mine and I have had lots of talks recently about giving.  As we shared her last piece of birthday cake for breakfast the other day we talked about it once again.

Tori wrote a post for me to share with you all.  Here is what she had to say...

Psalm 37:4 take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your hearts desires.

Africa is something that has weighed heavy on my heart lately. I don't know why but it's definitely something God has put there. As the verse says God gives you the desires of your heart. I feel like I need to do something, I've felt like this for a while and nothing jumped out, I slowly began to lose hope, wondering if we would ever find a family in need or anything I could do to help anyone.

However, the other day my mom came to me saying she found this blog about a girl, age 21 who went over there to Uganda to teach kindergarten and now has 14 beautiful children. My first thought when my mom told me about this was "how much is a plane ticket I want to go!" Of course that's not very realistic (not at this time anyway) so, we found some other ways to help. She also has a website and on it there are many other ideas on how to help. For example, $10 gives a blanket, a chicken, or a necklace kit. The women over there make necklaces and send them over to the US to be sold and that gives them a source of income.

Every Saturday she has many many kids come to her home and she feeds them a good meal and also sends them home with a bag of food for their family that will last them the whole week. I thought that was the coolest thing ever! Considering all she does I'm sure money is a definite necessity.

Therefore, anyone who would like to donate please do! I will match the first 5 commenters who donate 10 dollars and my Mom is generous enough to match the next 10 commenters giving 10 dollar donations. So if you would like to donate please click here then be sure to leave a comment saying “I gave.” That 10 dollar donation will make a permanent difference in a child’s life.

Thanks for reading! I hope this speaks to you in a way that's life changing, as it did to me.

Tori thanks for sharing your heart.  I love that you have a generous heart, and even more than that I'm so glad you have a heart that loves Jesus.

wow, your mama's heart is bursting with pride, I know!

It is so amazing to see God work through our children and see them take their faith to a deeper level.

I can not give a donation right now, but I can give my prayers that God will take her efforts and obedience and multiply the blessing!
