Today is my daughter's birthday.
She is 17.
We spent the weekend celebrating.
Friday night she had some friends over to celebrate the joyous occasion.
We stopped to pick up a cake. I love that she chose to have it say, "YAY Tori" rather than something so predictable like "Happy Birthday".
On Sunday afternoon we had the family over to celebrate some more.
Tori received the much coveted leopard print snuggie. She was ecstatic.
My baby turning 17 is bittersweet...
Bitter - time is passing by much too quickly
Sweet - watching her discover her interests and passion
Bitter - no more hearing my sweet little girl ask "why" about 100 times a day
Sweet - no more hearing my sweet little girl ask "why" about 100 times a day
Bitter - no more reading bed-time stories
Sweet - seeing her develop good character
Bitter - she is on the brink of adulthood
Sweet - watching her grow into a beautiful young woman
Happy Birthday Tori! Your momma loves you.

Happy Birthday to your girl!!! The sweet just keeps getting better!!! I love seeing my daughter bloom in college and how our relationship has grown to a new and different level.
Happy birthday to your {no longer baby} girl!
If I were her mom, I would be sneaking in her room to nab that Snuggie :)
Happy Birthday to your sweet baby girl. Bitter-sweet... a perfect description. {{hugs}}

Aw. She seems like a pretty great kid. :) Love your bitter/sweet list. :)
This is so sweet...and sad! Just the other day, when my 8yo daughter kept asking "WHY", I reminded myself to enjoy it, because one day, she would know the answers!!(not all of them-LOL!) Happy Birthday!
YAY TORI! (I love that)
True, so bittersweet, the fast way they grow!
For some reason whenever I think about you I think you are 24. So for you to have a 17 year old is quite an accomplishment!!!
Happy Belated Birthday!!
Blessings!
